Jane Myring Registered Member MBACP (Snr Accred)
A Registered Senior Accredited Member of the
British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP Senior Accredited Practitioner in Supervision
My name is Jane Myring and I am a Registered Senior Accredited Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Until 2013 counselling and psychotherapy was an unregulated profession in the UK. The BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) Register was the first psychological therapist’s register to be accredited under a scheme set up by the Department of Health and administered by an independent body, accountable to Parliament. This means that members of the public can now choose a counsellor or psychotherapist belonging to a register approved by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care. To find out more about BACP and the BACP Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists visit their website http://www.bacp.co.uk/.
I have been in private practice since 2005 offering counselling to individual clients, both adults and young people. I also offer couples counselling and family counselling, and am a qualified and BACP Senior Accredited Practitioner in Supervision providing supervision to other counsellors and psychotherapists, as well as supervision of supervision. I am an Approved Therapist for counselling students studying at Newman University, Birmingham and a Recognised Provider for BUPA, Vitality (formally PruHealth), AXA PPP Healthcare and Aviva Health Care Insurance Companies.
